World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade
The feature of upgrading items allows players to increase the level of equippable weapons or armor. This boosts the stats of that equipment, in addition to sometimes adding buffs or rolling an affix again.
It is important to keep in mind that even though you can upgrade magic and other common equipment, it is generally not worth the effort. Rare and unique gear can quickly outperform upgraded magic and common equipment.
Cost
The player must pay gold to upgrade an item. The cost to upgrade an item varies based on the item's current level and type of upgrade. For instance, upgrading a weapon will generally be less expensive than upgrading armor, since weapons have lower level requirements. The amount of Gold required to upgrade an item increases when the item is upgraded to an upper level.
An upgraded item will also have increased stats, which could boost its performance in many ways. This may include increasing its attack power or critical strike chance. In addition, an upgraded item may be able to offer additional bonuses to its equipped unit. These upgrades can be used to boost the overall strength of a group or unit, and could significantly impact the gameplay.
Items can be upgraded at any item upgrader NPC in the game. Typically NPCs can be found in capital cities or major questing locations. You can also find upgraders of items in dungeons that feature high-level bosses. You can also talk to NPCs in garrisons of your faction.
The World of Warcraft item upgrade system allows players to improve the quality of their weapons, armor, and trinkets. This process is similar to the gear reforging process in Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor. However instead of using currency, players have to visit an item upgrader to complete the process.
Upgrades can be costly especially for armor and weapons. Depending on which upgrade track you select, each level increase will cost Crests or Valorstones. The total costs can be a major burden for players who don't have the resources or are unwilling to grind them.
The game allows you to roll a new item by using a special tool from the items menu. This option allows you to exchange the upgraded item with the level 1 version of it with a different set of bonus effects. This is useful to improve the roll of items that are already upgraded. However, it can also be a waste.
Requirements
The process of upgrading items that are equippable such as weapons, armor and trinkets is to raise the level of the item. This can increase their power which makes them more powerful in combat. Players can upgrade their gear by spending the appropriate amount of currency at an upgrader. Players should be aware the fact that some upgrades require specific requirements.
The first upgrades increase the stats of the base item by one level, but later upgrades give more substantial boosts. For instance upgrading a weapon from level three to level six will boost the weapon's damage by plus two levels. A bonus stat will also be added to the upgraded item based on its level. This bonus consists of a guarantee extra substat as well as a random stat that can change in value from upgrade to upgrade.
Reroll Tokens can be used to reroll an item that has been upgraded. The new item will come with an additional set of bonuses and an lower base level. The rerolled item will also have different requirements for strength and dexterity. It is important to note that the rerolled item will not keep its original strength or any of its wasted resource.
Certain upgraded items can only be rerolled if the initial item was a Unique Epic, Rare or Rare. Additionally, exceptional items can be rerolled, however the original stats are replaced with an uncapped bonus. Rerolling an item that is Rare or Epic item will result in the normal version, and rolling the Epic version will result in an elite version.
An upgraded item might come with additional modifiers, which could further boost its stats and boost its performance. These additional modifiers don't come with the upgrade price. You can buy them at the Trading Post, or through other players. Additionally, they can be earned through completing certain tasks in the game.
To upgrade a piece of equipment, you must visit the NPC [Armoror Boboko located in Central Flarine. You will require Power Dices depending on the item. (Dice 6 are dropped by monsters 21+, Giants and Bosses; Dice 12 is dropped by Bosses). You will also require different amounts of Minerals, Erons and Giants.
Time
Upgrades to items can be a great way to increase your ship's performance and gear without needing to upgrade them. They're not cheap, but they are a good way to increase your stats and not have to spend a lot of time in battle. It's crucial to know the benefits and costs of upgrades to your item before you invest your money or effort.
Each upgrade increases the stats of the item's base by a certain amount and gives a chance to get an additional substat. The extra substat is random and may range from a tiny increase in one statistic to an even greater increase in another. It is recommended to concentrate on the top-performing items in your slot first, since they will yield a higher return for your investment.
You can check the time required to complete an upgrade by opening your inventory and selecting an item such as a ship, weapon or accessory. The upgrade window will display the progress and expected completion time. In some cases you may be able to speed the process of upgrading by applying an Glyph.
Black Lion Salvage or Ascended Salvage sell a high-level salvage kit that allows you to salvage all or part of the upgrade components. However, this does not include legendary equipment and upgrades that can only be recovered using an Upgrade Extractor or returning them to the appropriate Karma Merchant.
Rewards
The upgrading of items grants players currency and a range of items. Each upgrade also has the chance to award an unspecified stat bonus. The amount of bonus awarded is different for every upgrade, and is usually higher for items that are rarer. Players can use a Great Vault search to see whether an item is upgradeable before spending tickets. The search will also reveal whether the item is of a certain tier and if the player would benefit from a specific upgrade.
In the process of upgrading, an item will gradually grow closer to the next level, however, it isn't always able to reach the full upgrade bar. The process will consume Growthstones and Sollant, but there is a ten percent chance to get a fully upgraded item with just one cycle of growth. The higher the level an item receives, the greater its stat boost and the more items it is able to upgrade into.
Upgrade components can be inserted into weapons, armor and trinkets to earn an attribute bonus or to create a unique effect when the equipment is worn. Certain upgrade components come with cosmetic effects. Players can purchase upgrade components by crafting, purchasing from vendors, or at the Trading Post, looting, or receiving as a reward. Players can also retrieve upgraded items by using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging with a high tier salvage kit. Glyphs, which are stored in tools for gathering can be swapped out without restrictions.
A player can reroll an item to upgrade it into another item by selecting it and pressing the green button with a reroll arrow. This will alter the layout and allow players to choose up to six items for "recycling". The item will be replaced with a level 1 item. upgrade item won't retain their status or the amount of resources used to upgrade them.
An item's maximum upgrade level is determined by its tier and the quality. Rare and Epic items can be upgraded to levels up to nine, while common items can only be upgraded up to level six. The item upgrades are added to the base stats of the item. This means that they won't grow further after a certain level.
