Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is among the most effective ways to upgrade your equipment without relying on large-ticket drops or trade. This article will show you how to upgrade your items effectively.
Upgrades to equipment provide a bonus to the item's base stats. The bonus increases with upgrade component level and rarity.
Components
Upgrade components can make your weapons and armour better. They can be obtained by fighting off enemies, locating them in item spheres, or buying them from karma dealers. They can also be salvaged from equipment that contains them, or through an advanced salvage kit such as the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. item upgrades are not destroyed when they are removed from the item.
Upgrade components are typically used to upgrade an item, but they can also be used for other purposes. They can be stacked to boost the value of an upgradeable item or they can be used to boost the amount of experience gained from upgrading an existing weapon or piece of gear. They can be forged to give extra bonuses. A crafted glyph can increase the chances of upgrading its target while an upgrade boosts the defense or attack capabilities of the weapon.
Selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will allow you to connect it to an item. This will show the upgrade components to which the item can be upgraded. You can also use the workbench when selecting an upgrade template. In either case, the item will be upgraded once enough upgrade components have been gathered.
Each component is assigned an experience multiplier. This determines how much experience an item will gain when upgraded with that component. Organic components, like, have more experience multipliers than mechanical components. Therefore, it is recommended to upgrade with organic components until you reach the experience multiplier of the next rank of weapon or gear, then change to mechanical upgrades.
Each item comes with an upgrade maximum number that is available for. The number of upgrades is determined by its upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade for the upgradeable item. The most powerful upgrade is a weapon that is 10th level. However, the most commonly used upgrades for weapons are a tier 6 weapon and a tier 5 armor upgrade.
Sets
A set is a group of items which share a bonus. Each item in the set can be upgraded at least one time, and the upgrade will increase its guaranteed bonuses. When you first upgrade a set piece or weapon, it will receive a +1 increase to its primary stat. After subsequent upgrades, the primary stats will be boosted a little more (for example, +1 to 12+/13+/14+), and each time you upgrade the item with an additional stats is boosted randomly.
Upgrading a weapon can also increase its damage base, which could be important for some builds. However, weapons cannot be upgraded to a higher defense level than their regular base. It is a good way to improve the value of a set and unique items, but it is important to keep in mind that they might not be more effective than a high-level raneword in any build.
If you're upgrading an item that has a bonus, the item can be rerolled a single time and the guarantee will reset to zero. Rerolling costs the same amount of power dice as bringing an item, but the new item will have additional bonuses. Upgrades can be completed through the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will require the proper amount of Minerals and Erons as well as a power dice of each type. These can be bought by using Gold at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collection. NPCs also offer special rewards for each completed stage of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled a second time and the reroll will use the same materials used in the original item.

Rerolling
A player can reroll any item acquired in the game if they have enough reroll tokens to do so. When an upgraded item is rerolled, it will be exchanged for a level 1 version of the same item in another set. Reroll tokens are available from the store for a small amount of in-game currency. However, they are not refundable. The new upgraded item will still have the extra bonuses of the original one however, its stats will be different also.
Players can alter the identification of equipment in addition to rolling it again by interacting with a NPC upgrader. This will change the identification from an armored weapon to a weapon, or vice versa, while retaining its base stats and required attributes. The change will be permanent and will affect all characters who have the equipment.
The player can also upgrade the level of the item for any equipment equipped. This is accomplished by engaging with an upgrader NPC and obtaining upgrade items. The cost will differ based on the upgrade track, the item type and the number of crests. Each step will give an additional 5% of damage to weapons.
Upgrades can boost the power of an item, but they can also reduce the quality of an item. Therefore, it is important to keep both in check. Some items may not be worth upgrading at all however, others will need to be upgraded to reach their potential. A player may want to upgrade their breakpoint armor using an interesting modification ( percent block chance or FHR) in order to discover what it could be.
The primary reason why people reroll in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is because they are trying to get a specific weapon or character that they wouldn't otherwise be able to acquire. The process of obtaining these items can be costly and time-consuming, and the RNG gods aren't always willing to play ball. The only options are to spend real cash or grind for a long time. For this reason, rerolling is a popular option in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
When upgrading an item, you can level up the weapon or armor. However, this feature is absolutely nothing in the current game. I believe it was intended to be a way to give some value to rare items, but because the majority of gear drops quickly and is only upgraded once you've reached a certain level and you'll typically replace the item before it becomes old enough. It's not worth upgrading items with gem sockets since the power of the gemstone will outweigh any increase in the ilvl.
You will see a small window when you click the upgrade option for an item. It will show the template for the item, its crest, and the cost of Valorstone to increase the level of the item. The cost will differ between the armor and weapons as well, with the former typically costing more than the latter. The upgrade template lists the stats that can be added to an upgraded item, as well as its current base ilvl.
The crest and Valorstone costs are calculated according to the item's current ilvl as well as the upgrade template. The ilvl will also be reduced by the upgrade template's reduction percentage for lvl. For example an upgrade of 8% will reduce the weapon's ilvl by 8 to 8%.
The item will be upgraded to other stats, like critical strike damage, PvE damage and block, parry, and dodge rating, in addition to the base ilvl. These increases are also based off the upgrade template.
The amount of defense and damage the item will receive when leveled up can be seen below the cost and upgrade decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. In addition to practice equipment, all armor and weapons gain the same stats when they are leveled up. The market determines the value of these stats. A weapon or armor that has perfect rolls can fetch more than an unupp'd version. This is also true for other armor pieces such as circlets or tiaras.
