World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.
For instance a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will suffer an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost rises with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons to provide them with a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Some upgrades also have special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can only be used on equipment with a slot. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before the component can be applied. upgrade item , unlike other mods can only be applied only once. They are not able to be replaced or applied multiple times. Infusions and Enrichments are a type of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascending equipment, as other items that are not ascended. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade could be prefixed or a suffix changing the name of the equipment to which it is used (for instancethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, which allows players to create stronger versions of the equipment using the smallest amount of Upgrade Crystals than is required to achieve the same level of upgrade using normal methods.
A 'boost' upgrade can alter the attack or defence characteristics of an armored weapon or. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals.
The player can have up to five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-level version of the item will be available at the time of the next reset. Glyphs
Glyphs are upgrade components that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of nodes within a radius, including any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as you can to level 15.
In the endgame you'll often discover that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is by placing Glyphs. These are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded up to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.
Glyphs, the sole upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and then replaced with no restrictions are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment, which requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can replace it with a different Glyph with the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
When you have the desired Glyphs You will have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, which is why it is best to place Glyphs in key spots on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids, for example, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their most critical damage nodes.
Leveling
The system of upgrading items lets players increase the stats of specific items by putting upgraded components inside them. This is often referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item has a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item requires a different amount of components to reach and the costs for upgrading increase as the item gets upgraded.

Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used for leveling up an item. Once enough points are earned you'll be able to claim the upgrade and get its extra bonuses.
When an individual player upgrades an item it will be replaced with an item that is new. This means that the same armor piece will become an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item will also have its own set bonus. This could be a drawback in that it could make the item more expensive if you don't need it.
If the player has enough tokens they can reroll item upgrade s. The item will be replaced with an entirely new item that has a base of level 1 and totally different bonuses. This can be beneficial, but should not be used frequently as it can waste resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled several times to increase their value, allowing the player to customize their equipment. A good example of this is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or does not swim as a dolphin). This item can be upgraded many times and increases the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item is very useful in PvP. A properly rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of a non-upgraded version.
Requirements
The upgrader for items lets players increase the level of their equipment (armor weapons, armor, and trinkets) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also increase its base defense and weapon upgrades items increase the damage they deal and also increase their strength and dexterity.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. Failures can cause the item to revert back to its original state, which will force the user to spend more materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.
If an item is not upgraded the experience bar in the bar for growth will be reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained, such as crit chance, attack damage, or other effects (such as increased heal over time or reloading speed). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
Whenever an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from the lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit, the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is calculated each time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For instance, a typical equipment item could have five upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will have an incredibly lower cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items might have different upgrade requirements from regular gear. For example, they may need fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons.
